Biography

Dr. Michael Sims is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in disorders of the foot and ankle.  He practices in Greenville, South Carolina and is part of Piedmont Orthopaedics Associates and the Bon Secours/Mercy Health System. 

​

Dr. Sims grew up in Columbus, Georgia.  He attended LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia where he earned the Shibley-Hicks scholarship for excellence in Biology.  There he lettered 4 years in baseball and was a 2 time All-American baseball player. 

​

Dr. Sims earned his medical degree from Mercer University School Medicine.  There he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, recognizing him within the top 15% of his class. 

He completed Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Greenville Health Systems where he was the Chief Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery.

He then finalized his training in Memphis TN, completing a Foot & Ankle Fellowship at the Campbell Clinic. 

​

Dr. Sims is married with 2 children and is active the community.  Every day he is pursing his calling to help people get back on their feet, pain free.
